AMWA is a non-profit 501C3 organization with one of its key missions to educate the public on important health and healthcare issues. The AMWA "Conversations with the Candidates" initiative was undertaken in support of this mission. AMWA is non-partisan and does not endorse political candidates nor specific healthcare reform plans. AMWA did not solicit or accept funding from any political or campaign organizations.

To allow for the broadest expose of consumers to proposed healthcare reform plans, AMWA extended invitations to the major presidential candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties asking them join us in a conversation about the state and future of healthcare in the US. Unfortunately, no Republican candidates accepted our invitation.

AMWA believes that GUARANTEED ACCESS to HIGH-QUALITY, patient centered, PREVENTIVE and curative health care is the most fundamental women’s health issue of our time.
